Pre-Arranged Cremations
You have purchased a Pre-Arranged cremation with your preferred provider. Your money needs to be in the safest place possible. That is where American Century Life comes in. We are the funding vehicle to safe keep your money until the time of need. At that point the cremation provider has the right to make claim on the funds to pay for the cremation service. We are an Oklahoma Domestic Life Insurance Company. We are audited by an outside independent CPA firm every year and the Oklahoma Insurance Department performs examinations or audits of our firm for every year. Your Pre-Arrangement is with your Funeral Home, the money is safely kept with American Century Life.
You will receive a policy and copy of your Pre-Arranged cremation directly from American Century Life. This is an opportunity for you to double check that your wishes were communicated and the financial arrangement is understood. As stated on the front of your policy you have several days to look over your policy and request a full refund if not satisfied. This rarely happens.
If you have elected to have your monthly payment electronically drafted from your account or credit card, it will be drafted by American Century Life, not your specific cremation provider that you have your cremation Pre-Arrangement with.
If you move or change cremation provider preferences this independent policy is good anywhere and can be used to fund your cremation at any location and in any state. There is no need to cancel your policy and potentially lose money and value just because you move.
There are no 1099's on this money or the value of this money while the funds are assigned to a cremation provider. You will also not be taxed when the policy is claimed due to death of the policy holder.
